Hi, I’m Ellie.
I believe there is something worth holding onto in every person, every night, every fleeting moment — and film is how I hold it. What I bring to a project is a sensitivity to who people really are — and the ability to make that visible.
Ellie Aoki is a Japan-born fine art photographer working primarily with analogue film. Her work explores love, memory, vulnerability, and emotional connection — capturing the moments where vulnerability, rebellion, and confidence exist all at once.
Drawing inspiration from Sofia Coppola’s softness, the raw intimacy of Sagasig, the nocturnal candour of Chad Moore, and the dreamlike realism of Moni Haworth, her images blend emotional realism with stylised direction and atmospheric light.
Her debut solo exhibition LOVE IS (Osaka, 2024) and international show Before It Blooms (London, 2025) established her voice across both Japan and the UK. Her series What’s on Tonight? (Osaka, 2025) extended that vision into underground music and rave culture.
Her work has been featured in Dazed Digital (UK, 2025) and ArtCast (Italy, 2024). She collaborates with fashion labels, musicians, and cultural collectives whose values align with her visual and emotional language.

2024年の初個展『LOVE IS』（大阪）、2025年のロンドンでの国際展示『Before It Blooms』を経て、日英両国でその表現を確立。同年、大阪で発表したシリーズ『What’s on Tonight?』では、アンダーグラウンドの音楽やレイブカルチャーへと視野を広げました。2025年には、Dazed Digital（UK、2025年）や、ArtCast（イタリア、2024年）などに掲載。ファッションブランド、ミュージシャン、カルチャーコレクティブなど、自身のビジュアルと感情的な言語観を共有するクライアントと協働しています。
